An inclusive, thriving district economy that directly benefits all of the communities and residents of the Umkhanyakude District Municipality.
Mission
To co-ordinate, plan and manage the implementation of a locally driven programme to fast-track development of the local economy of the District of Umkanyakude.
Objectives
- Foster local action to remove barriers and blockages to equitable and sustainable growth and development of the local economy.
- Facilitate simultaneous and parallel donor, public and private investment to the district economy for maximum socio-economic development impact.
- Broaden and diversify participation in the district economy to reverse economic and social exclusion.
- Develop robust institutional partnerships, linkages and networks to support and optimise development interventions .
